| Abstract: | Not only the number but mainly the size of companies that underwent bankruptcy or liquidation during the analysed period of time, their ownership structure, scope and the characteristics of the "companies' failures", ended by the liquidation or further operation, are the key factors in the definition in bankruptcy and the damage caused by the bankruptcies in the national economy.This paper defines the characteristics of bankruptcies of the Slovenian companies during the period of 1989-1991.The cognition of these fundamental characteristics is important in taking the macro and micro-economic measures to reduce the scope of the "companies' failures" in the national economy. |
