| Abstract: | The starting point of the article is that considering the two major characteristics of Slovenia in the beginning of the 90s (1. a small independent country, 2. a country in a multidimensional transition period) human capital has become an even more important development factor than in the past.Hence the importance of measuring the characteristics of this factor relative to other countries has increased.For that reason both aspects of human capital, the stock and the flow , in Slovenia are compared, firstly, with different groups of countries, secondly, with other small countries in the world, and thirdly, with other East European countries in transition.A comparison between 12 regions within the country is also included. |
