| Abstract: | For most products and processes diagnostic or trouble shooting schemes are usually developed after the design of the product or process is completed. This paper describes a scheme whereby a diagnostic model of a product or process is defined concurrently with the design, at the design stage of the product or process. This procedure has several advantages that greatly enhance the development of diagnostic schemes. This paper also illustrates how the diagnostic modules created can be reused through the use of generic diagnostic schemes. |
