Abstract: | A downsizing or merger may be the only thing organizations dread more than a computer system rollout: the installation of a new or modified PC or a mainframe software system. The goal is to get the new system ready for user testing and then train employees on operating it. ADP, a large data processing firm in Roseland, New Jersey, faced a rollout that involved training 2300 employees, with only a few classrooms available. There had to be a better vehicle than the paper-based workshops ADP usually used. The firm simplified the process and cut expenses by using PC-based training simulations. |
