Abstract: | As early as in the 1980's, Deng Xiaoping expressed his developmental strategic thought of building another "Hong Kong". And the lower reaches of Tumenjiang river are an ideal place for the following reasons: (1) Their special geographical position provides basic conditions which are needed for making the place a centre of transportation and communication in Northeeast Asia; (2) A good international environment and the economic complementarity will make Tumenjiang's lower reaches a prospective centre of economy and trade in Northeast Asia. |
