| Abstract: | It is tempting to believe that corporate mission and value statements can guide behavior, express organizational culture , and inspire commitment. In reality, however, most philosophy statements probably have little or no positive effect, either because of flaws in the statements or the ways they are used. The authors explore how companies have helped employees live the corporate philosophy. |
