Abstract: | The article analyses questions about the government solvency and fiscal policy sustainability in the long-term.Perpetual generating of fiscal deficits raises two separate issues.First, it is the question whether such a generation of fiscal deficits is desirable, i.e. what are the effects on inflation, investment and other macroeconomic variables.Second, are perpetual deficits feasible, i.e. is the government in position to run fiscal deficit forever. It turned out that solvency imposes only mild restrictions on the current fiscal policy. |
