Abstract:Industrial marketers have long used the lease as a sales and promotional tool. It has helped promote many products that otherwise could not be sold because of a buyer's lack of desire or inability to pay for an asset outright. As transportation equipment often requires a significant capital investment, the need to research the lease/purchase decision is imperative. Correspondingly, a thorough understanding of accounting standards constraining financial arrangements for transport equipment selected is necessary.
