| Abstract: | The IPD's policy on continuing professional development (CPD) emphasises each individual's responsibility for their own learning. In this, it differs from some other professional bodies that have sought quantifiable inputs, such as a set number of hours' attendance at certain conferences or courses. The essential principles of the IPD's approach are that development should be continuous, that it should be managed and owned by the learner and begin from the individual's current state of learning. |
