Abstract: | Banks must listen to business and take part in an informed debate over a single currency for Europe, writes George Younger. The author's view is that there is a significant possibility of progress towards a single currency, by at least a core group of EU members, by the end of this decade; and that the ramifications for the UK business and banking sector - whether or not the UK participates - are such that we should all be thinking through the implications for our organisations and sectors. |
