| Abstract: | In this article the authors present the merits of a cost of quality (COQ) program as a means of measuring the effectiveness of the total quality management efforts. The objective of this article is to revisit COQ concepts by addressing various aspects related to the allocation of COQ dollars, the measurement of quality costs, and the role of activity-based costing/management. They also discuss its impact upon operations strategy and provide an overview of some real life studies. |
