| Abstract: | One way to reduce setup time and to ensure uniformity of setup procedures is to use computerized instructions giving step by step diagnostic procedures supplemented with pictures, diagrams, tables, graphs, sound, and text. Using hypertext would allow the user to choose how to access the instructions in a non-sequential manner. Hypertext was used to construct a series of instructions to set up a group of machines in a plant in South Carolina. In the process, other applications were discovered which had not been anticipated. |
