| Abstract: | As a direct result of increasing global competitive pressures, corporations in every industrial sector are addressing product development challenges by focusing on what each does best and turning to partnerships to supplement internal abilities. In the manufacturing sector, this trend is manifested through joint manufacturing ventures, increased outsourcing, and supplier partnerships, often with geographically distributed partners. The challenge is to swiftly create agile partnerships, linking best-of-breed partners in virtual corporations capable of world-class performance. |
