| Abstract: | The idea of a "poli-centric" development , introduced by the Slovene government in the seventies, consisted of the development of infrastructure, health and education, and - above all - of the development of industry. This idea should now be replaced by the strategy of integral endogenous regional development.Regions should now become more independent and should use their own resources for development.The paper also presents a classification of Slovene agricultural settlements according to the EU cri-. teria of development.In agriculture, the smallness of an average farm is a special problem.This problem is particularly severe in northeast Slovenia.(p. 51) |
