| Abstract: | The development model of the second generation of special economic zones is to develop a modern international city-type economy with high-tech industry as the leading one, the advanced industry as the basis and the highly socialized tertiary industry as the pillar. Xiamen special economic zone strives to turn Xiamen into a socialist modernized international port city featuring economic boom, social civilization, beautiful environment and people living a well-to-do life. The measures to be taken are to develop the city by taking advantage of its port's superiority, to rejuvenate the city by developing science and education, to innovate the system, to strengthen its foundation and expand export to raise the level of "importing from abroad and linkage at home". |
