Abstract: | How do CEO's add value? By leading boldly and decisively. How do they lead in this way? In this article the authors describe the five approaches to leadership that emerged in their interviews with 160 CEO's. In the most successful companies the CEO determines what the organization needs from its leader and chooses the approach that meets those needs. Whether a CEO uses the strategy approach, the human assets approach, the expertise approach, the box approach or the change approach, his or her role is to lead with clarity, consistency and commitment. |
