| Abstract: | According to the estimation of a group of research project of Environment and Development Center the Chinese Academy OF Social Sciences, by using 1993 price index as the conversion parameter, the loss coursed by pollution was as much as over 100 billion yuan in the early 1990s , accounting for 30 of 1993 GDP (excluding the loss by the damaged ecological resource). When calculated by item, it was found that the loss in agriculture ranked first, accounting for 46% of the total loss, followed by the loss to people's health, accounting for 32.5% of the total loss. |
