| Abstract: | In general, lowering tariffs will play a positive role in China's economic development in that it helps enterprises import expertise and equipment, motivates renovation of facilities and improves productivity and competitiveness of products. Consumers also benefit a lot from the competition between homemade and imported goods. This lowering of tariffs will not have much short-term impact on domestic market prices and revenues. |
