| Abstract: | Starting from April 1996, China reduced tariffs and non- tariff barriers tremendously, as much as over 30 percent for both which helps economic development of China. Reduction of "two barriers", no doubt, will facilitate China's reform of the importing system forward and the macro control of foreign trade; weaken the tendency of rise of the exchange rate of RMB; ease the pressure of inflation at home; help improve qualities of enterprises and competitiveness of products on world markets and contribute to moderate control over the domestic development of processing trade. |
