Abstract:In recent years, the evolution of peasants' irrational consumption has become manifest in consumption level which is relatively lead, consumption structure which is un- ordered and consumption effect which is low. In the changes of consumption structure, for the items that should not be lead, such as "housing" and "household necessities" , they are lead while those that should be lead, such as ones aiming at enhancing laborers' cultural and technological quality, are backward. The measures to rectify the irrational evolution are to increase peasants' income, to establish consumption-guiding mechanism in order to make their consumption rational, and to strengthen the building of rural socialist culture and ideology in an effort to enhance peasants' cultural quality and raise the effect of peasants' consumption.
