| Abstract: | Shift-share analysis was used to examine Malaysia's export market growth between 1991 and 1`993. The export markets with large positive and negative net shifts were then identified. The six export markets with large positive net shifts include the united States,Hong Kong, China, Taiwan Province of China, Thailand and Mexico with total net shifts amounting to 75 per cent. The six export markets with large negative shifts include Japan, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, India, Australia and Indonesia. |
