Abstract:This paper investigates China's consumer market and the distribution of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) in China. After the beginning of economic reform programme in 1978, China's economy has been rapidly expanding. The paper explains the historical evolution and present structure of China's consumer goods distribution system and investigates the current channel management strategies of the China subsidiaries of four major MNEs. China's distribution system has already started to experience significant changes.
