| Abstract: | In 1996, the money put in circulation amounted to 100 billion yuan, up 13% or so. The basic money and the saving deposits of urban and rural residents rose by 20% and 35% (an increase of 1000 billion yuan) respectively. The state banks' loans saw an increase of 800 billion yuan. In view of the economic structural contradictions and the pressure of inflation, we should speed up the reform towards the marketing of interest rate, adjust flexibly the level of interest rate and policy of exchange rate, make the state's industrial policy incorporated in the credits being put in society, and stress the co-ordination of fiscal and monetary policies, and other policies. According to calculation, the estimates of broad money and narrow money will be 9600 billion yuan and 3300 billion yuan, up 24% and 18% respectively. |
