Abstract:This paper makes a forecast of the prospects for China's economic development from now on to 2010 and in 2050. The results show the following: In the coming 15 years, the average annual economic growth rate will exceed 8%. By the year 2010, in terms of the total scale of economy, China will be at the forefront in the world and will join in the ranks of powerful countries in the world by the mid-next century if it continues to complete the course of industrialisation. At the same time, Asia will become the focus of the world economic growth. The economic co-operation in Asia and the Pacific Region will develop even faster.
