Abstract: | The demonopolization of the financial-credit sphere has been characterized by the emergence of a multitude of new commercial banks, the number of which grew 1.8-fold. The banks' (gross) consolidated balance sheet increased 21-fold during the year and at the beginning of the current year totaled 324.1 trillion rubles; investment loans increased 2.6-fold and totaled 100 trillion rubles. Total declared capital quadrupled to 5 trillion rubles. The increases in the number of banks and their increasing financial autonomy promote the diversification of capital in the banking sector. |
