Abstract: | The family controlled firm and the state owned enterprise are the most common ownership structures in Asia. Foreign firms seeking local joint venture partners in Asia will face the prospect of allying with family controlled firms. This article examines the implications of these and other features for alliance partners, using case studies from Indian business. It also suggests useful sources from which potential partners can obtain information on family controlled firms. |
