Abstract: | Priming should have a significant effect on subjects' self-reports of perceived stressors and strains. In an experiment the experimental group was exposed to a brief talk about the types of stressors and resulting strains typically experienced by working M.B.A. students, and then were asked to complete a questionnaire measuring several stressors and strains. The control group received no information and they were just asked to complete a questionnaire. Those who were exposed to information reported experiencing higher levels of stressors and strains than those who did not receive information. |
