Abstract: | Open learning offers freedom but the trainees lose the experience of learning within a group. But now, thanks to Internet technology, students are being brought face to face at a distance in virtual classrooms. New communication technologies provide electronic learning environments where students can work together with their tutors, trainers and peers. These offer collaborative experiences that mirror the face-to-face contact of learning in classrooms. There are strong arguments to show that collaboration adds a vital element to the learning process. Many management training programmes today use group work as a key component of the development process. |
