Abstract: | Tailored to reflect each country's stage of transition to free market conditions, Western business education provides practical learning with immediate payoffs for the Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries. The motivation of the participants varied from curiosity to hunger for knowledge. CEE countries contain a number of "supernova" companies: born from a bright idea, shine for a year, go bankrupt and disappear quickly. Without increases in living standards, the "old days" could return in the form of reelection of communist governments with socialist labels and a slowdown of privatization. |
