Abstract:This article reviews environmentally related research published in the major English language marketing journals over the period of two decades. The review reveals the shift in emphasis from the characterization of the "green" consumer to broader issues such as environmental values and institutions and most recently to the macro issues of sustainable marketing and its relationship to the dominant social paradigm.
