Abstract: | The 1997 survey showed the following: 1. The growth of residents' income slowed down due to the following: 1. The working population decreased and the scope of employment became narrower. 2.The urban families' actual income decreased for some poorly-performing enterprises were in arrears in wage payment. 3. The growth of capital income slowed down for the state reduced the interest rate of savings deposit. 2. The urban residents' awareness of financial investment had been enhanced 4. The level of resident's consumption had raised continuously and expenses grew in step with income. 4. The low-income families' living standard was declining and the number of families with income decreasing becomes larger. |
