Abstract: | The supermarket industry has one of the highest numbers of repeated trauma illnesses. The objective of the study is to quantify the wrist motions required to bag groceries using a wrist motion monitor. The results show e.g. that six-pack objects required statistically more pronation and less supination that other objects. Also, the right and left locations were significantly different; the difference existed only in extension and flexion wrist movements. In addition, there are some results on the effect of object size, shape, and pliability. |
