| Abstract: | China abolished the old policies and regulations on border trade, more preferential and wide in range in Spring, 1996 and began to implement the new and unified ones. Such a change have exerted great influence on the development of border trade in the western area. The scope of enterprises enjoying the preferential policies becomes narrower, the variety and scale of import commodities are subjected to restriction and the scale of barter trade will become much smaller. Under the new situation, the western area should make full use of the present preferential policies, concentrate its efforts on expanding export and enlarge the scope of economic and technological cooperation with the neighboring nations. |
