Abstract:By the end of Aug.,1997, there had been 296,900 approved foreign-funded enterprises with the used foreign capital totalling US$ 204.415 billion in China. There exist the following problems: 1. The present preferential policies have made foreign-funded enterprises enjoy "super-national treatment". 2.Some foreign-funded enterprises have transferred some industries generating heavy pollution and consuming a lot of resources to China, thus worsening China's environment. 3. The proportion of foreign side holding the majority stake in joint ventures has become larger. 4. In terms of introducing technology, there exist such problems as irrational structure, hardware equipment more than software technology, duplication and blindness in introducing technology. 5. The inflow of large foreign capital would induce inflation to some extent.
