Abstract: | This paper analyses the results of a survey conducted by the author in three Middle-Eastern countries which currently enjoy a dual-banking system (i.e. interest-free banks operating side-by-side with traditional banks). Factor analysis is used to determine the main variables which motivate Muslims to deal with Islamic rather than interest-based banks. |
