Abstract:In 1999, there are many favourable factors for the development of automobiles, such as large demands for renewal of automobiles and the perfection of related infrastructures, etc. Besides relatively low incomes of residents, unfavourable factors mainly lie in the fact that automobile variety and technology level fail to catch up with market demand. Generally speaking, under the background of stable and fine development situation, different changes of market shares take place in different automobile types which are influenced by various factors, especially the relatively evident influences by fuel taxes, new standards of pollution and payment by instalment. Furthermore, individual purchase of automobiles and institutional consumption will play an equally important role. Prospects for small and medium-sized automobiles are not so bright.
