| Abstract: | The status and forecast in foreign investment attraction in 1998 was as follows: The contract value with direct foreign investment steadily increased;The declining trend in project number slowed down; The actual use-value got a slight drop; Difficulties were seen in fund raising through debt and credit and bond issuance in the international market. The prospect in 1999 has shown some favorable factors. They are the ever-growing world economy, the ever-expanding international capital market, the evident rise-up of China economy, and the greater roles played by all the measures taken to attract foreign investment. To the forecast, the actual use-value of the direct foreign investment would reach $44 billion, 5% up than last year. |
