Abstract:Analysis of competitive effects resulted from China trade reform since 1993 shows: A. The degree of market monopoly has been weakened. B. Effects of economies of scale have been brought into full play. C. Growth rate of total factors' production efficiency has been greatly increased. The analysis indicated: under the condition of incomplete competition and increasing return to scale, liberalization of trade not only has the role in optimizing resource allocation, but also gives itself play to competitive effect. The degree of market monopoly decreased, advantages of economies of scale were optimized, and growth rate of total factor's production efficiency increased. On the assumption of incomplete competition, liberalization of trade can bring competition from outside to stimulate protective sectors to increase productivity.
