Abstract:Are Americans obsessed with globalization? Many American politicians, especially President Clinton, have enthusiastically embraced the global marketplace, but for the rest of the world, and for most Americans, it's a very different story. Since 1997, noticeably fewer foreign political leaders have supported globalization, due principally to the tumultuous economic and financial crises which erupted in South East Asia, then spread quickly to Latin America, Japan, and Russia, before finally reaching Europe and the United States.
