| Abstract: | The cost of deflation is the rising of the unemployment ratio and the lay-off and waste of large amount of productive capacity and resources. It is necessary to maintain the proper growth of economy for a country with a large population and with the fact that they want to work. Many economists thought that the slowdown of income growth could account for the inefficiency of demand. The author does not deny this point of view but at the same time advocates the over-savings is a more important reason for this inefficiency. |
