Abstract: | During the past 20 years, United States federal agencies have operated under a series of federal statutes and Presidential Executive Orders mandating the purchase of products and services that pose fewer burdens on the environment. As a result, federal agencies are increasingly selecting products based in part on environmental attributes such as recycled-content percentages, energy- and water-efficiency ratings, lower toxicity, and the use renewable resources. |
