Abstract:In this study, the marketing activities of European cultural institutions are analyzed. Results show that the cultural institutions in Europe have adopted passive and traditional marketing programs as compared to other types of business. The collaboration between the cultural institutions and the local city tourist offices is very limited and underdeveloped.
