| Abstract: | This paper outlines the threat to higher education museums, galleries and collections (HEMGCs), examines the variety of ways in which they can contribute to their education institutions and the wider community, and suggests how they might be effectively managed. It concludes that HEMGCs not only enhance the teaching, research and environment of their institutions but through their public access programmes perform a valuable service for the wider community. |
