| Abstract: | The objective of this study is to conduct a fundamental analysis of the US oil and gas exploration and production industry using variables identified by industry financial analysts. This study combines the industry-specific focus on Amir and Lev (1996) with the variable selection approach used by Lev and Thiagarajan (1993). The cross- sectional studies that include observation from many different industries are problematic for several reasons. |
