| Abstract: | The subjects of this paper are: medical care, health care in United States, cost of medical care. The author of this paper focuses on the changes in the health care industry of the United States. He provides the sources of pressure to reduce growth in health care expenditures and pays an attention to the impact of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 on the industry. The author also considers the trends in health care costs. The author states as murmurs of major health care reform faded into a sunset, organizations in the industry remain acutely aware that the pressures to become more efficient and effective will endure. No doubt that these pressures will also continue to shape the future of health care industry. |
