Abstract:The paper reports results from a nationally representative survey of 40-54year-old New Zealanders investigating correlates of perceived available leisure time. Results showed that respondents predominantly reported having moderate amounts of time identified as leisure and were satisfied with that amount. Recognized correlates of leisure availability, such as education levels and ethnicity, were confirmed but others, such as gender, health satus and family structures, were not.
