Abstract: | At the moment, companies see themselves confronted with a series of new regulations. Their aim is to effectively prevent repetitions of the spectacular corporate failures of the most recent past. However, formal aspects relating to the power of corporate governance are to be relativized. The responsibility for materially good corporate governance in practice is mainly within the companies themselves and its implementation depends on the competence and integrity of the people working there. To tangibly improve the quality of corporate governance, there must be a comprehensive further development along the lines of the suggestions brought forward that intensifies the cooperation between the executive and supervisory management bodies. |
