Abstract: | The application of economic principles to non-market and even personal matters has been discussed with frequency and success in recent years. Witness the increase in the number of students graduating with a BS in economics; might this result from rediscovering the value of an economics education for preparing individuals for life- regardless of any career aspirations directly involving the field? Here are some examples of applying economic principles to matters of "everyday living": a job change, a family housing dilemma, a lackluster romance, joining a health club, even deciding where to fill your gas tank. |
