Abstract: | Marketers have been interested in the appliciation of market theories and practices to nonprofit and public organizations eg museums and art gallerias for a long time. Museums and their marketing have been a little tough to merketers, because of the nature of museums and their operational environment (political, social, economic). This article takes a chronological approach to the subject and practical examples are from Canadian museums from the early 1800s through the end of the 1980s. |
