Abstract: | This article examined how two factors, age and gender, affect career progress. It was also studied whether contexts of age- and gender-type have impact on the progress. The results indicate that women's salary did not significantly increase with age, while there was a clear increase in men's salaries. The women earned slightly more in masculine-typed jobs, but men earned significantly higher salaries in feminine-typed jobs. It was also discovered that younger men were promoted in old-typed industries, whereas younger women received promotions in young-typed industries. |
